The Torah

We are always interested in knowing what the expected rewards from our investments are. In fact, we always prefer to make the least amount of investment and to receive the largest return.

Imagine if someone would tell you that you can invest one dollar and you can receive in return $100 for each dollar you invest, you would jump at such a chance.

In many ways that’s how it is with the Torah. A person can spend a few minutes a day learning Torah and the rewards will be enormous.

Imagine if you spent just 15 minutes a day learning Chumash, there is no doubt that if you kept this up for entire year, by the end of the year you will have accomplished a huge amount of Torah learning.

Imagine if you just learn two Mishnayos a day, in one year you will have learned over 700 Mishnayos.

The Vilna Gaon points out that for every word of Torah that you study you receive a separate and individual Mitzvah. Therefore, by studying Torah for one hour you can add up thousands and thousands of Mitzvohs. How is that for getting the biggest bang from your money?!

By spending one hour in Torah study you will stack up thousands of Mitzvohs which you can cash in at the appropriate time and place.

If there is one lesson we should take with us from Shavous it is the lesson of the importance of investing and buying stock in Torah.

In these times of economic uncertainty, it pays to invest in the one stock which has never gone belly up and has never missed a payment.

Indeed, it is guaranteed by Hashem Himself!
